A study in restraint, volume and material contrast
Light Vault House by Chamberlain Architecture & Interiors is a study in restraint, volume and material contrast — a home shaped by privacy, light and texture.
The project began with a bold brief: a concrete sanctuary. Situated on an exposed corner site, the design embraces an austere, almost monolithic exterior, protecting the interior from the street while allowing the architecture to quietly assert itself. Rather than relying on conventional openings, skylights and carved courtyards draw daylight deep into the home, washing over off-form concrete and revealing subtle tonal shifts within the material.
Inside, the atmosphere softens. Warm timber ceilings, oak joinery and richly figured marble introduce tactility and warmth against the cool concrete shell. The result is a layered interior where light, acoustics and texture work together to create moments of calm — spaces that feel both grounded and unexpectedly gentle.
Our Black & White towel collection sits naturally within this monochromatic environment. The graphic weave and hand-finished tassels echo the architectural language of contrast and texture, offering a soft counterpoint to stone and concrete. Draped within the marble-lined bathroom, the towels become part of the material dialogue — tactile, functional and quietly sculptural.
Light Vault House is a home defined by balance: bold yet intimate, austere yet warm. A reminder that thoughtful materiality can shape not only how a space looks, but how it feels to inhabit.
