McNamara House by Tom Robertson Architects thoughtfully reimagines a Federation-era home through a restrained contemporary addition that sits quietly behind its heritage façade. Designed around a central courtyard, the project balances openness and intimacy, using natural light, honest materials and carefully considered spatial planning to create a home that feels both grounded and welcoming.
A pared-back palette of timber, bagged brick and steel defines the new pavilion, while subtle transitions between old and new celebrate the character of the original home without imitation. Generous glazing, clerestory windows and tactile materials create interiors that are warm, light-filled and deeply connected to the surrounding landscape.
Featured within the home, Loom Towels' Archival Coral Bath Mat introduces a gentle pop of colour and texture. The soft coral tone complements the home's natural material palette, adding warmth and personality while sitting comfortably within the calm, understated interiors.
